Abstract: Emulsomes are developed as a novel lipoidal vesicular system with an internal solid fat core surrounded by a phospholipid bilayer. Hence, this will act as a carrier and vehicle of choice for the poorly soluble drugs. Many techniques has been developed for increasing the solubility of poorly soluble drugs. Among them emulsomes is the most prominent and recent technology. It is designed to overcome the drawbacks associated with current lipoidal formulations. This review addresses the concepts of emulsomal drug delivery system and special attention to its advantages and various recent applications related to the drug delivery.
