Abstract
A simple new, rapid and precise UV spectrophotometric method was
developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of caffeine and paracetamol.
Two influences, precise, accurate and simple UV spectrophotometric methods have
been developed for simultaneous estimation of Paracetamol (PARA) and Caffeine
(CAF) in pharmaceutical dosage forms. Method A tangled simultaneous equation
method. The two wavelengths 257nm (λmax of Paracetamol) and 272 nm (λmax of
Caffein) in their solution in sodium hydroxide 0.1 N NaoH. were selected for
the formation of Simultaneous equations. involved formation of Q-absorbance
equation at isosbestic point (259.5 nm). Linearity was observed in the
concentration range of 2-10mcg/ml for paracetamol and 2-10 mcg/ml for caffeine
by these methods. The proposed methods have been applied successfully to the
analysis of cited drugs in pharmaceutical formulations. Recovery study was
performed to confirm the accuracy of the methods. The methods were validated as
per ICH guidelines.
